Dunn says she is excited to work with Mayfield Middle School (MMS) Principal Antonio Sherrill, “I want to say thank you to Mr. Sherrill for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to work alongside him and the faculty and staff at MMS. I am a committed and dedicated leader who believes in building a strong school culture within our community.”
Dunn has spent her professional educational career at Mayfield Independent Schools. She says, “Mayfield is and will always be my home as well as home to my two boys, Tucker (7th grade) and Sawyer (3rd grade).”
Serving as the MMS interim assistant principal since January, Dunn simultaneously served as assistant principal at Mayfield Elementary School, a position she has held since 2015. Prior to moving to an administrative position, Dunn was a fourth grade teacher for 10 years at MES. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master of Arts in Special Education and a Master of Arts in Education Administration.
Reflecting on the transition, Dunn noted, “Change is something that excites me and I have always felt connected to middle school kids. It’s bittersweet to leave a job I’ve loved for 18 years at MES but I am ready to continue my career at MMS.”
